Under the new leadership of Leo Charith Siriwardana Leo club of Piliyandala organized its first two activities today for the new Leoistic year 2009/2010. Leos of Piliyandala organized an orientation session with the guidance of Leo Manula Dharmarathna (Regional Director) and Leo Kasun Pathirana (Zonal Director) for new Leos who are willing to join Leoism. After that a fun activity : A Paduru party was organized as well.

Agro Project

Leos of Piliyandala organized an Agro Project as their first fund raiser. In this project Leos planted various kinds of vegitable seeds and roots in a land which was about 1/4 of an acre. Though the projects prime objective was to raise funds, it developed the skills of our leos a lot. The land was situated in a easily reachable destination for leos. And we are hoping to maintain the Vegitable garden regularly. We are hoping to sell the cultivated vegetables among Leos and Lions. Inaugural District President of Leo District 306 A2 Leo Sadeepa Palliyaguru and District Leo Advisor Lion Noel palliyaguru witnessed the project and they actively participated in growing vegitables. District Chairman for Leos Lion Noel Palliyaguru highly appreciated the project idea and the way the project was done.
